The Integrative Healthcare Studies Major (IHSM) program prepares students for future careers in the health professions. The program offers a hybrid of rigorous coursework, labs, and experiential learning - preparing students for Graduate School or bachelors-level jobs in the health industry. Learners will develop problem-solving abilities, leadership aptitude, and communication skills needed for interacting with patients, families, and colleagues. The Integrative Healthcare Studies Major also emphasizes population science, cultural competency (Health), and ethics - providing students with the knowledge and skills to improve health outcomes among pluralistic, multicultural populations.

Core Curriculum and First Year Experience

Health Care Delivery Sciences
Health Sciences Community Internship
Take 3 hours of internship. Research Methods
Take 3 hours of research methods from the following: Statistics
Take one of the following: Foundational Biological Sciences
Track 1 - Clinical Career Pathway
Students enrolled in the Integrative Health Studies major who are considering further professional graduate education (e.g., medical school, PA school, pharmacy school, etc.) should consult with their student success coach and/or faculty advisor on an ongoing basis - ensuring they are satisfying pre-requisite course requirements within their degree plans. Students must choose 12 hours from any of the below courses: Track 2 - Non-Clinical Career Pathway
Students enrolled in the Integrative Health Studies major who are considering further professional graduate education should consult with their student success coach and/or faculty advisor on an ongoing basis - ensuring they are satisfying pre-requisite course requirements within their degree plans Students will choose a minor program (12-22 hours) that fits with their career interests. Note- there are a few courses offerings that are in multiple categories; however, those courses may not overlap to fulfill multiple IHS requirement. Students will choose a minor program (12-22 hours) that fits with their career interests. Options may include: - Accounting
