Judaic and Near Eastern Studies Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Kendall College of Arts and Sciences

The minor in Judaic & Near Eastern Studies offers students an interdisciplinary approach to the religious, historical, and anthropological aspects of Judaism and the Jewish People within the context of the greater Near East. It consists of 12 hours, six of which must be at the 3000 level or higher. Students elect courses from at least two disciplines, with at least one course designated Judaic (J) and one Near Eastern (NE).  If a course is listed as both J and NE, the student, in consultation with the program coordinator, will designate which field the course fulfills. The remaining six hours can be completed in the discipline(s) and field(s) of the student’s choosing. If the student uses Hebrew to fulfill the college language requirement, only HEBR 2013 can count toward the minor. The program director may approve other courses as needed.
