General Education Requirements

The General Education requirements for teacher certification and a Bachelor of Science are satisfied by the Tulsa Curriculum.  

Area of Specialization/Primary Major (40 hours)

The subject area of specialization requires 40 semester hours.

• EDUC 2103 Foundations of Education
• EDUC 3171 Educational Technology for Instruction
• EDUC 3713 Child and Adolescent Development and Learning
• EDUC 3733 Measurement and Evaluation
• EDUC 4013 Education of the Exceptional Child
• EDUC 4214 Teaching Methods for Middle and Secondary Schools

• Any two of the following three courses:

• EDUC 4616 Student Teaching in Elementary School
• EDUC 4626 Student Teaching in Middle School
• EDUC 4636 Student Teaching in Senior High School

•  

• EDUC 4971 Seminar in Student Teaching

Note:

K-12 certification requires EDUC 4616 Student Teaching in Elementary School  and either EDUC 4626 Student Teaching in Middle School  or EDUC 4636 Student Teaching in Senior High School .
