ANTH 4153 Faunal Analysis Laboratory
(3 hours) Quad IV
An advanced undergraduate lab on the basic identification and the analysis of animal remains recovered from archaeological and paleontological sites. Teaches basic identification of the anatomical differences in the skeletal material of vertebrates and identification to different taxonomic levels. Particular attention will be given to the biology of bone and aspects of preservation of material in the archaeological sites and practical estimation of taxonomy, age and sex.
